Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce invested in Alpine, a French team on the Formula 1 circuit. And now the KC quarterback will be able to watch the team race at the British Grand Prix.

It’s all part of the Mahomes family’s grand, European adventure before the quarterback heads to Chiefs training camp later this month.

On Saturday, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes traveled to the Netherlands to catch Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, perform at her Eras Tour stop in Amsterdam.

On Friday, Mahomes was at Wimbledon. And the social media account of the most famous tennis tournament in the world shared his photo. The caption? “Patrick Mahomes has touched down at Wimbledon.”

Mahomes was there at Center Court to watch a third-round matchup between American Frances Tiafoe and Carlos Alcaraz. Tiafoe lost in five sets to the third-seeded Alcaraz. Mahomes reposted the photo from Wimbledon and tagged both tennis stars.

Patrick Mahomes announced F1 investment last fall

Before he left Kansas City for Europe, Mahomes talked about the excursion on the podcast Riggle’s Picks.

“I’m kind of getting a free three weeks to go over to Europe,” Mahomes said. “We’re going to bounce around…I’m going to Wimbledon, and I’m gonna go to the British Grand Prix…It’s going to be really cool to experience some of those things and get to see a whole another side of the world.”

Mahomes is going total dad mode on this trip. Patrick and Brittany brought their two kids Sterling and Bronze. And they’re making all sorts of stops. The family was in Spain earlier this week. They also showed up in Switzerland.

On Sunday, they’ll be attending the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit, which is about a two-hour drive from London. We’re thinking Kelce will be there as well. Here’s why. The two NFL stars announced last October that they were investing in the Alpine F1 team. Alpine used to be known as Team Renault before rebranding in 2022. PGA standout Rory McIlroy also is among the investor group.

In making the announcement, Patrick Mahomes said:

“I’ve always had a passion for all sports,” Mahomes said. “The opportunity to lead an investor group with Travis in Alpine F1 alongside Otro Capital was one I couldn’t pass up. It’s an exciting time for the sport, and this is an opportunity to bring our shared values to the world stage. I’m looking forward to being a part of its growth.”

Mahomes definitely has branched out from the NFL. He’s also part of the ownership groups for the Kansas City Royals (MLB), Sporting Kansas City (MLS) and the Current (NWSL). But Alpine is the only one that allows him to mix business and vacation.

He’ll have to turn serious again by July 21. That’s the start of training camp in St. Joseph, Mo., when the Chiefs officially start prepping for their third straight Super Bowl championship.
