Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce receive Tiffany jewelry after winning 'The Match'
A pretty little blue blox sometimes can be more coveted than a check with a ton of zeroes. Just ask Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
The two stars from the Kansas City Chiefs each received a gold link bracelet from luxury jeweler, Tiffany’s, Thursday, thanks to their victory over Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in The Match. And yes, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes enjoyed this 14K wearable trophy. The two hooted as they opened the iconic blue boxes.
“There’s nothing like something gold to seal the deal, baby,” Kelce exclaimed. Gold jewelry, always, always is a terrific way to celebrate most any occasion. So are diamonds, but we digress.
Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes won 3 and 2
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce met the two NBA stars in a made-for-TV golf tournament this past Thursday. Meanwhile, Von Miller of the Bills and Draymond Green from Golden State followed along in a golf cart to provide their brand of ongoing analysis. This all unfolded at The Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas on a scorching hot late June day.
Curry and Mahomes have participated in The Match before. But they both lost in their Match premieres. Curry teamed with Peyton Manning to take on Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley in November 2020. Barkley and Mickelson won the day. A year ago, Mahomes and Bills quarterback Josh Allen battled Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. And the old dog quarterbacks tamed the pups.

In this year’s Match, the NBA stars were the betting favorites. But Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes romped all over their rivals. The two football stars clinched the match on the 10th hole to win 3 and 2.
Kelce wants to play golf in Vegas again, right after Super Bowl
Mahomes said he knew coming into the match that he had an advantage playing with Kelce. The two have perfect chemistry on the football field. That translated onto the fairways and greens.
“We knew coming into this that if I just played decent, we were going to have a chance,” Mahomes told reporters. “Steph’s a great golfer, I thought Klay did a good job out there today. But they didn’t have that team aspect that we had. . . . Literally, I would hit a terrible shot, Trav would hit a great one and vice versa. That’s what it takes in a team event like that and I think we went out there and showed what we can do.”
And Kelce asked to come back. Pay attention to when.
“I wouldn’t mind coming back here in February and defending the title, baby,” Kelce said.
Next year’s Super Bowl is set for Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, so if Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have their way, the two can swing by after another victory. They also can wear their trophies on the course.
