Report: Patriots cornerback Jack Jones arrested after bringing firearms to airport
A New England Patriots player is in hot water after reportedly attempting to bring two firearms onto a plane at Boston Logan International Airport on Friday evening.
Boston 25 News reports that Massachusetts State Police troopers were called to a security checkpoint after two firearms were found in carry-on luggage.
New England cornerback Jack Jones was arrested and booked and now faces charges including possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport, possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
Jones posted $50,000 bail.
The Patriots released a short statement indicating they are aware of the situation and are gathering more information.
Cornerback Jack Jones was a fourth-round pick out of Arizona State in 2022, selected with the No. 121 overall pick by New England. In his first season in the NFL he recorded 30 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, two interceptions and six passes defended. He returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown.

Prior to reaching the NFL, Jones had a productive college career at multiple Pac-12 schools.
He spent his first two seasons at USC, where he recorded 53 tackles, four interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and eight passes defended.
But he was dismissed from the team due to academic issues and spent the following year at Moorpark CC. After a year in junior college, he returned to Arizona State, where he played from 2019-21.
With the Sun Devils cornerback Jack Jones racked up 92 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 1.0 sacks, six interceptions, four forced fumbles and 20 passes defended.
