Paul Skenes, Livvy Dunne attend first Pittsburgh Steelers game
Pittsburgh Pirates RHP Paul Skenes and LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne are in attendance at Acrisure Stadium for Sunday’s Week 11 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2) and Baltimore Ravens (7-3).
The power couple posed for the cameras pregame, Skenes delivering a special message to Steelers nation.
“What’s up, Steelers fans. It’s Paul Skenes here. Excited to be out here. Hopefully get a good win against the Ravens,” Skenes said. “Here we go Steelers. Let’s have a good one.”
Skenes took part in a brief Q and A with the Steelers’ social media team, revealing linebackers T.J. Watt and Patrick Queen to be his favorite players on the team. The selection of Watt speaks for itself, and you knew Skenes had to go with Queen, his fellow LSU brethren.
Skenes, selected No. 1 overall in the 2023 MLB Draft, has been in Pittsburgh for less than two years. But in that short time, he’s already learned just how passionate the fans are in the Steel City.

“I didn’t know how enthusiastic the fans are and how awesome this city is, how much it unites around their sports,” Skenes said. “Even Yinzer, I didn’t know what that was before I came here but now I know.”
Paul Skenes up for multiple MLB awards
Skenes is arguably the hottest ticket in town, coming off a historic rookie season. Skenes made his MLB debut on May 11 against the Chicago Cubs and went 11-3 in 23 starts, sporting a 1.96 ERA which would have led the league if he met the innings requirement. He pitched 133.0 innings, striking out 170 batters and walking just 32.
Skenes was named to the All-MLB first-team Thursday night at the Awards Show in Las Vegas. He is a finalist for the NL Cy Young Award alongside Zack Wheeler of the Philadelphia Phillies and Chris Sale of the Atlanta Braves. Skenes is also up for the NL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award with Jackson Merrill of the San Diego Padres and Jackson Chourio of the Milwaukee Brewers.
