Paul Skenes, Livvy Dunne hit red carpet ahead of MLB All-Star Game

Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne turned heads when the couple hit the red carpet ahead of the 2024 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday. The Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher wore an all-white suit and a black tie, and the LSU gymnast was rocking a beige halter-top dress.

While being interviewed by the MLB Network, Dunne was asked what it’s like watching Skenes pitch. “My brain can’t even process how hard he throws,” Dunne said. “It is incredible and it’s such a joy to watch. He’s a great baseball player and even better person.”

2024 has been a big year for Skenes and Dunne. Skenes is making a huge impact as a rookie pitcher for the Pirates and will be the starter for the National League team in the All-Star Game. Dunne helped the LSU Tigers win a national championship and recently announced she’ll return for a fifth year.

“There’s something about putting on a purple and gold leotard. There’s something about competing in front of 13,000 screaming Tiger fans,” Dunne said in a video announcement (per PEOPLE). “There’s something about being pushed by your coaches to be your very best. And there’s something about being a part of a team that made school history.”

“And no matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU. And that’s why I’m here to say I’m not Dunne yet.”

Skenes and Dunne confirmed their relationship in August of last year. Relationship rumors began in June of that year when Dunne was seen wearing a Skenes’ LSU jersey during the College World Series.

“It can be a pain in the butt sometimes, to be honest, in terms of actually going somewhere,” Skenes said in an interview with The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “If one of us went out in Baton Rouge [La.] by ourselves, there’s probably gonna be someone there asking for something — picture, autograph, whatever.”

Skenes also talked about how their ability to understand each other’s lifestyle has made them a stronger couple. “It’s nice to be able to have that conversation. She does get it,” he said. “I do wish she could come to a baseball game and just enjoy it. It does irk me. I don’t have any control over it. She really doesn’t either. I’m sure it’ll get better as I go up levels, but that’s something I want for her.”
