Paulson Adebo injury update: New Orleans Saints DB carted off field vs. Broncos with air cast on leg
New Orleans Saints cornerback Paulson Adebo was carted off the field during Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos and had an air cast on his leg. Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung reported he immediately went to the X-Ray room after his departure.
Adebo went to make a tackle on Javonte Williams in the second quarter and immediately called for the trainers when he hit the ground. The broadcast didn’t show a replay of the play, noting the graphic nature of his injury.
Paulson Adebo had six tackles at the time of his departure as he continued to play a key role on the Saints defense. He entered Thursday night’s game with a team-high 46 tackles and three interceptions on the young season.
The Saints entered Thursday’s game dealing with a slew of injuries. Derek Carr was missing his second game after suffering an oblique strain while the wide receiver duo of Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed were also ruled out. Olave is dealing with a concussion and Shaheed underwent season-ending knee surgery after a meniscus injury. As if that wasn’t enough, offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz and linebacker Pete Werner were also ruled out.

Shaheed, 26, was a big playmaker for the Saints in 2024. Through six games, the Weber State alum caught 20 passes for 349 yards and three touchdowns. Shaheed was named to his first Pro Bowl and selected to the All-Pro First Team in 2023 as a punt returner. He averaged 13.6 yards per return and ran back one punt return touchdown last year.
Thursday’s game also presented an interesting matchup between two rookie quarterbacks. Bo Nix was back under center for Denver while Spencer Rattler made his second career start in place of the injured Carr. The Broncos defense was the story of the game in the first half, though, as they held the Saints out of the end zone through the first two quarters en route to a 13-3 lead.
