Turns out, PETA wasn’t a huge fan of the video NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus posted to social media this week, wrestling a shark. Who would’ve thought?

Rosenhaus was on a fishing trip with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill when he decided to wrestle the shark. Crew members could be heard saying, “Don’t grab him, don’t grab him, Drew, we don’t have good enough insurance for that.”

That didn’t stop Rosenhaus, though. And PETA had some strong words for the Miami-based sport agent.

“Spending so much time around top athletes must have Drew Rosenhaus feeling like he has something to prove,” PETA said, per TMZ Sports.

“Aquatic animals already suffer at the hands of anglers who impale them, yank them out of the water, and gut them or leave them to suffocate, so they don’t need some wannabe macho man yanking on their tails for a few Twitter ‘likes.'”

PETA was not alone in its criticism of Rosenhaus for his actions in the ocean. Several social media users also called out the sports agent for his behavior.

One social media user wrote: “Damn a shark and a snake in the same video!”

Another voiced concern for the shark: “Nah this ain’t it. There’s a reason why sharks are endangered.”

Despite the backlash, Rosenhaus did not comment on the situation. Based on the way he captioned his initial tweet, there’s probably not of regret in his actions.

Drew Rosenhaus not the only one catching heat …

Rosenhaus caught plenty of backlash from social media and PETA for wrestling a shark while on the fishing trip. But Hill also found himself in trouble during the expedition.

According to a report from Andy Slater FOX Sports 640 South Florida, Hill allegedly slapped a man in the back of the head following a disagreement at the marina. The argument reportedly began when Hill’s crew attempted to board the boat without permission.

The crew member does not wish to press charges at this time.

Sounds like a pretty active fishing trip, no?

Hill, 29, completed his first season with the Dolphins in 2022. He ended the year with a career-best 1,710 yards on 119 catches. He also reached the end zone seven times for Miami.

Hill spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs. He won a Super Bowl ring with the team and has earned a Pro Bowl honor every year since entering the league in 2016.
