Peyton, Eli Manning react to wild sequence to end Broncos-Bills MNF game
“What a way to lose a game. Oh my goodness.”
Those were the only words Eli Manning could muster up to sum up the finish to the Denver Broncos’ (4-5) 24-22 Week 10 victory over the Buffalo Bills (5-5) on “Monday Night Football.” And if you tuned in to watch the closing moments of the game, you’d understand why.
After the Bills took a 22-21 lead with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Russell Wilson and co. marched down the field and into field goal range with a chance to win the game. All that was needed was for Wil Lutz to nail the game-winning field goal.
Unfortunately for the Broncos, Lutz’s attempt went wide right. Buffalo had escaped with a victory — or had they? Buffalo bailed Denver out, as its defense had 12 men on the field. Suddenly, Lutz had another chance at redemption. Lutz wouldn’t miss this time, putting the 36-yard attempt through the uprights for the walk-off win.
Both Eli and Peyton Manning, along with Kyle Brandt, could only watch on in disbelief on the “ManningCast” at how Buffalo squandered an opportunity to move to 6-4 on the season.

“How’s that happen? I’m stunned,” Brandt said.
“I think everybody’s stunned,” Eli Manning responded.
Broncos upset Bills, continue winning streak
In the end, it’s another statement win for the Broncos in their first year under Sean Payton, after taking down the Kansas City Chiefs before the bye week. Denver has now won three straight games and is in the thick of things in the AFC playoff picture.
While the numbers won’t show it — 24-of-29 for 193 yards and two touchdowns — Wilson looked closer to the player who routinely made trips to the Pro Bowl during his time with the Seattle Seahawks. The 34-year-old expertly guided the Broncos on multiple scoring drives in the fourth quarter, a welcome sight for what the rest of the season holds.
