Bill Belichick has spent the last 50 years imparting his football knowledge onto his players but this season, the public will finally get their turn. ESPN announced last Wednesday that the six-time Super Bowl champion head coach will join Peyton Manning and Eli Manning weekly on the Monday Night Football “ManningCast” during the 2024 NFL season.

Belichick and the Manning brothers have gone through rehearsals in preparation for their debut this Monday for the Week 1 matchup featuring the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers, and Peyton Manning is excited about their potential together. Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show” Friday, Manning said it’s been great working with Belichick, adding he’s becoming a “smarter football fan” being around him.

“It’s been great,” Manning said. “We’re excited. Our first game is Monday night. We got Jets-49ers and Bill’s gonna be a permanent kind of first half guest this year. Coming in, talking about the defense, talking about head coaching decisions. Look, Bill Belichick is a brilliant guy. I’ve heard him talk football and I’ve become a smarter football fan in the rehearsals that we’ve done with Bill. But nobody else has really heard him. You guys have gotten to hear him a little bit, but he never shared with the public or the media kind of his knowledge. And I think fans are gonna be the beneficiary of hearing his insights.”

In addition to appearing on the first half in each of the 11 “ManningCast” telecasts this season, Belichick and Manning are hosting “The Breakdown with Peyton and Belichick.” The first episode, which provides a film room breakdown of the Jets and 49ers, came out 2 p.m. ET Friday on ESPN+ and ESPN2.

“There’s a show called ‘Breakdown’ that actually drops today on ESPN+ and ESPN2 where Bill and I kind of broke down the Jets-Niners game. We filmed it the other day and look, his knowledge is off the charts,” Manning said. “So, I learned things from him, I try to kind of make points on the offensive side. This is what [Christian] McCaffrey is going to have to do against this Jets defense, it’s a little bit of back and forth but it’s a lot of fun. Looking forward to him being a part of the ‘ManningCast’ all season.”

Perhaps the thing Peyton Manning is most looking forward to about Belichick appearing on the ‘ManningCast,’ is he finally has somebody to join him in trading barbs with Eli Manning.

“Look, he doesn’t like Eli that much because Eli beat him in two Super Bowls,” Manning said. “He’s gonna fit in great. It’s nice to have a little reinforcement going back at Eli when he comes for me.”
