Peyton Manning revealed the one rule ManningCast guests have to follow
Heading into its third season, the Manningcast, co-hosted by brothers Peyton and Eli Manning, has become a staple for many NFL fans.
The alternative broadcast, which airs during 10 select games throughout the football season, won the 2022 Sports Emmy for Outstanding Live Sports Series, while the hosts and studio team earned nominations as well.
The Manningcast consistently brings in celebrity guests, as well as the league’s top players when their bye weeks come around.
From Barack Obama and Jon Stewart to Sue Bird and Marshawn Lynch, the guests that come on the Manningcast are some of the most prominent faces in American culture and sports. To build additional hype, the show releases the names of the guests with an SNL-style reveal in the days leading up to each broadcast.
Peyton Manning recently revealed in an interview with Bloomberg‘s Lucas Shaw what his one main qualifier is for guests that come onto the show.
“The criteria for being a guest is you gotta love football,” Manning said. “You can’t come on to promote your tequila.”
Each Manningcast features between three to four guests a show, which means the former Broncos and Colts quarterback has to book roughly 35 guests per season.

Loving football as the main criterion for booking his guests, which he does himself, helps the show stay on topic. Even in the midst of entertaining tangents, the co-hosts are able to quickly pivot back to the game action. And because the guests “love” football, it’s easy to keep them involved in the conversation.
Manning’s Omaha Productions see valuation skyrocket
The most-watched edition of the Manningcast in 2022 featured Deion Sanders, Tedy Bruschi and Lions head coach Dan Campbell. However, in the inaugural season of the show, they reached a height of 1.96 million viewers. The episode had four guests: Jon Stewart, Josh Allen, Michael Irvin and Michael Strahan.
According to Bloomberg, Manning’s Omaha Productions now has a valuation of more than $400 million. Aside from the Manningcast, Omaha Productions also has other features for ESPN, documentaries for Netflix and commercials for big brands.
Deadline recently shared that Omaha Productions and North Road’s Words + Pictures are working on a full-length documentary. The documentary planned for Amazon Prime Video is about Eric Reed. Reed was the trainer of the horse Rich Strike, which won the 2022 Kentucky Derby.
North Road, owned by Peter Chernin, bought a minority stake in Omaha Productions for an unspecified amount. The deal reportedly includes a multi-year agreement for the development, production, and sale of unscripted and scripted content.
