PGA club pro Michael Block hits unbelievable hole-in-one at PGA Championship
The incredible journey for PGA club pro Michael Block continued on Sunday. The unexpected star of the weekend hit a hole-in-one during the final round of the PGA Championship, doing it in the most incredible fashion you’ll ever see.
Block hit a hole-in-one on the fly on the 15th hole from the Oak Hill Country Club. The incredible shot sent the crowd into a frenzy, and will be a moment replayed for years to come.
Below is the clip. It’s a shot you have to see to believe … and even then you might be questioning if it really happened.
Not only did Block sink a hole-in-one in a major championship, he did it in his final round in front of PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy. It doesn’t get much better than that.
What might’ve been even better than Block’s shot was his reaction. He appeared to be in complete disbelief that the golf ball found the bottom of the cup, especially on the fly. When McIlroy came over to congratulate his playing partner, he couldn’t believe it.
“It didn’t go in, did it?” Block asked. “No … no. No way.”
Yes way, Michael.
It was just another incredible moment in what has been an unforgettable experience for the 46-year-old.
Block only PGA Head Professional to make cut
In golf, consistency is key. Perhaps nobody exemplified that more than Block during the PGA Championship. The 46-year-old carded even par through each of his first three rounds at Oak Hill Country Club.

After shooting 70 each of the first two rounds, Block was the only one of 20 PGA Head Professionals to make the weekend cut at the PGA Championship. That, alone, is quite the accomplishment.
But Block’s awesome weekend didn’t end there. He shot a 70 during Saturday’s round, giving himself a real chance to win a major championship. He sat just six strokes back of the leader and four-time major winner Brooks Koepka.
Heading into the final round, he also got paired with one of the biggest stars on the PGA Tour in McIlroy. It must feel like a dream come true, especially for someone who has devoted his life to the game of golf.
It’s been one of the most unexpected and unpredictable runs we’ve ever seen for a player, especially on this kind of stage in golf. To cap an outstanding performance with the most memorable shot of the entire tournament?
That’s special.
