PGA Tour golfer Adam Hadwin gets tackled by security on 18th green
All Adam Hadwin wanted to do was celebrate and incredible victory with his friend, Nick Taylor. After Taylor sunk a 72-foot eagle putt to win the PGA Tour‘s RBC Canadian Open on Sunday, Hadwin raced to the 18th green to celebrate.
Security didn’t apparently recognize the PGA Tour star, though. Instead of getting the chance to celebrate, security at the event tackled Hadwin to the ground.
Better safe than sorry — well, at least for security in this case. For Hadwin? He might be sore in the morning.
Didn’t like that angle? Don’t worry, there’s more!
In this alternate angle, it shows Hadwin attempting to celebrate Taylor’s huge accomplishment by spraying him with a bottle of champagne. But, again, security at the Canadian Open wasn’t having it.
In all fairness to the PGA Tour security team, they’re just trying to do their job by protecting the athletes. They don’t have much time to determine whether it’s a fellow player or some crazed fan storming the green.
Is storming the green a thing? Maybe now it is.
Maybe next time, Hadwin will be a little more patient to celebrate a victory with his friend. Perhaps wait until he comes off the green. Or at least provide the security team with a little more warning before getting laid out in front of a massive crowd.

Taylor becomes first Canadian to win Canadian Open in 70 years
Taylor made history on Sunday, becoming the first Canadian to win the Canadian Open since 1954. That’s almost a full 70 years a native has gone without claiming the title.
It was an entertaining afternoon on the golf course, with Taylor and Tommy Fleetwood playing four playoff holes before a winner was crowned. Taylor carded an eagle on the 18th hole by sinking a 72-foot putt.
Jim Nantz’s call of the unbelievable putt was second-to-none.
What a moment for Taylor. What a moment for Canada.
Taylor ended the tournament by shooting -17, a pretty impressive feat after carding a +3 during the first round. He quickly recovered, shooting -5 on Friday and lit up the course with a 9-under-par 63 on Saturday. He was -6 during his final 18 holes on Sunday.
With Sunday’s victory in the Canadian Open, Taylor scored his third win on the PGA Tour. This one will probably be his most memorable, and not just because Hadwin got tackled on the 18th green.
