Eagles DB James Bradberry to miss extended time with lower leg injury
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback James Bradberry is expected to miss an extended period of time with a lower leg injury, according to Ian Rapoport.
The NFL insider reports that Bradberry will be out for six-to-eight weeks after getting banged up in practice on Wednesday.
“Eagles veteran DB James Bradberry suffered a lower leg injury during yesterday’s practice, sources tell me and @TomPelissero,” Rapoport posted on Twitter. “Although surgery is not required, the injury involves a tendon and recovery time for an injury of this nature is approximately 6-8 weeks.”
James Bradberry is entering his fourth season with the Philadelphia Eagles. The veteran was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.

This is obviously a big loss for the Eagles as Bradberry is one of the top defensive backs on the Eagles roster. The 31-year-old started 16 games for Philadelphia last season, finishing the year with 54 tackles, 13 passes defended and an interception.
The former Samford star was named second-team All-Pro in 2022.
James Bradberry is currently in the second year of a three-year deal that will pay him a total of $38 million.
Eagles recently landed Jahan Dotson in trade
While the Philadelphia Eagles are losing James Bradberry for a while, they recently added a player on the other side of the ball.

Last week, Philadelphia landed Washington Commanders receiver Jahan Dotson in a trade.
Jahan Dotson is entering his third year in the NFL after being selected by Washington in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Dotson was taken No. 16 overall following four seasons at Penn State.
As a senior for the Nittany Lions, Dotson earned All-American honors and was named first-team All-Big Ten after catching 91 passes for 1,182 yards.
Jahan Dotson will be a part of a loaded Eagles offense that also includes another former Penn State star in running back Saquon Barkley. The former No. 2 overall pick is in his first year with Philadelphia after starting his career with the New York Giants.
As for Dotson, he has been solid in his first two years in the NFL, despite inconsistent quarterback play. As a rookie in 2022, Dotson caught 35 passes for 523 yards and seven touchdowns. This past season he had 49 catches for 518 yards and four scores.
