Eagles DT Moro Ojomo immobilized, carted off field with head, neck injury
A couple of scary moments have occurred in Philadelphia on Thursday, with the Eagles hosting the Cleveland Browns for a preseason game. Injuries have been a huge storyline, with rookie defensive lineman Moro Ojomo being the latest to go down. A moment where everyone held their breath following Tyrie Cleveland having a similar situation earlier in the game.
Speculation from those in attendance at Lincoln Financial Field is a head or neck injury for Ojomo. A cart and stabilizer were brought out to tend to the player. Ojomo was just doing his job of chasing down the quarterback before running into one of his Philadelphia teammates.
“Moro Ojomo is the second #Eagles player who has to be taken off the field on a cart due to some kind of head or neck injury,” Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal said via Twitter. “The big defensive lineman was simply chasing Kellen Mond and hit his head off the side of one of his teammates.”
Shortly after being taken off the field, the Eagles provided an update on Ojomo. They confirmed a neck injury but gave us some positive news. Ojomo is moving around — a huge win considering the circumstances.
“Injury Update: DT Moro Ojomo is out with a neck injury,” the Eagles said via Twitter. “He has movement in all of his extremities.”

Ojomo was a seventh-round pick for Philadelphia this April, coming out of Texas. He is originally from the Houston, TX, area and spent five seasons on the 40-Acres. The Longhorns had just five players selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, with Ojomo being one of two on the defensive line.
“I want to update you on Moro Ojomo, who was carted off,” Eagles sideline reporter Dave Spadaro said during the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s game. “The good news is, he has movement and feeling in all of his extremities, very similar to the injury to Tyrie Cleveland. So that is a positive moving forward. The worst averted and we obviously hope for the great things ahead.”
Ojomo was making an impact on the game before suffering his injury. The Texas product had recorded three tackles and even gotten a quarterback hit. For someone who was a seventh-round draft pick, Ojomo was making an impact for what should be a loaded Eagles defensive line.
Everyone involved and watching along will be hoping for a speedy recovery.
