The Philadelphia Eagles are the Super Bowl champions, and the fans did not hold back while celebrating. After the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, fans were seen climbing a police van, launching fireworks in the street and climbing light poles.
It’s clear Eagles fans were happy to take down the Chiefs who won the previous two Super Bowls. It’s also clear the fans did not pay too much attention to what Mayor Cherelle Parker said when it comes to celebrating a victory.
“Don’t climb light poles or anything else,” she said Friday, via FOX 29 Philadelphia. “Please, Philadelphia, I implore you as your mayor, do not climb light poles or anything else.”
The mayor was concerned with the safety of the fans after an 18-year-old man died after falling from the poll and landing on his head while celebrating the Eagles wining the NFC Championship. Additionally, at least three people were injured when a driver drove into a crowd of pedestrians after the game.
“The Philadelphia Police Department is on an all-hands-on-deck approach to ensure everyone’s safety,” Police Commissioner Kevin J. Bethel said Friday. “Our officers will be out in full force across the city, ready to keep the festivities running smoothly.”

Eagles have now won five NFL titles overall
This is the second time in franchise history the Eagles have won the Super Bowl. However, the team has won five NFL championships overall, winning three league titles before the Super Bowl Era.
“God is good — even in the highs and the lows,” Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said after the game, per NFL.com. “Couldn’t be here without my teammates. The effort, the determination everybody displayed to get to this point. It’s never been about what any one of us does, it’s always been about what we do and how we’re responding to certain things. Hell of a game today.”
Hurts threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 72 yards and one score. In his five-year career, Hurts has won a Super Bowl, claimed the Super Bowl MVP award and has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice.
Another big reason the Eagles are champions is running back Saquon Barkley. During the regular season, Barkley rushed for a career-high 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. Barkley joined the Eagles this season after spending his first six years with the New York Giants.
