Report: Philadelphia Eagles re-sign LB Zack Baun to three-year deal, one of highest paid in NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun to a new three-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Baun came to Philadelphia as a free agent in 2024 and helped win Super Bowl LIX.
“Breaking: Eagles are re-signing All-Pro LB Zack Baun to a three-year, $51 million contract, including $34 million guaranteed at signing and additional $1.5 million in incentives and escalators, per sources,” Schefter wrote on Twitter. “The contract instantly makes Baun one of the highest-paid LBs in the NFL.”
Baun spent the first four years of his career with the New Orleans Saints (2020-23). The team drafted him in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin.
Baun played primarily special teams and also missed some time due to injury in 2022 while in New Orleans. It wasn’t until this season that he truly broke out.
Baun finished with career highs across the board: 152 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception and four pass deflections. He also logged 33 tackles, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions and three pass deflections in the postseason.

He received all the accolades this season. Baun was named First-Team All-Pro and named to the Pro Bowl this season. His diving interception in the Super Bowl was one of the top highlights of his season.
Going into the offseason, Baun was expected to hit free agency after his one-year deal expired. Not only that, a big payday was set to come his way.
“I’m curious,” Baun said after the Super Bowl. “I don’t know what it’s going to look like, honestly. My goal every time is to play the best football I can. Hopefully, it’s here. I love this place and I really appreciate what they’ve done for my career and my family and just everything. Got a lot of options to weigh and stuff to think about.”
Now, Baun will be in Philadelphia for the foreseeable future. He’ll captain a defense that’ll look to aid the effort for a run at Super Bowl LX.
