Philadelphia Eagles select Cameron Williams in sixth round of 2025 NFL Draft

One of the biggest humans available this year, Cameron Williams has been selected at the 2025 NFL Draft. Williams will begin his professional career with the Eagles after being taken with the No. 207 overall pick in the sixth round. A quite literally massive selection for Philadelphia.
Williams is listed at 6’6 while weighing at at 317 pounds. This is after cutting down his weight during his time in Austin with Texas. Offensive line coach Kyle Flood is known for recruiting big humans and Williams was certainly one of them.
Coming out of Duncanville (TX), Williams was a four-star prospect coming out of high school.
He was the No. 244 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Williams getting selected does create some history for Texas. Alongside Kelvin Banks, there have now been two Longhorn offensive tackles taken. That has not happened in a long time, dating back to the mid-1970s.
Despite being a three-year player, Williams only spent one season as a starter. Christian Jones occupied the right tackle position during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Jones himself left in favor of the NFL, leaving an opportunity for Williams.

There is still some development to undergo and Williams will be coached up in the NFL. But the goal of getting to the league is now officially accomplished. Doing so as a one-year starter in the SEC is quite impressive for him.
What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Cameron Williams
Ahead of the draft, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein provided a scouting report on Williams. He laid out the positives and negatives, in his mind, when it came to the Texas product. While there was no direct player comparison provided, Zierlein did initially believe Williams would be taken in the fourth round.
“Williams’ blend of desirable physical traits but subpar bend and foot quickness make him a tougher pro projection,” Zierlein said. “The technique will likely need a full year of work to help mitigate the aforementioned deficiencies and allow his traits to speak more loudly.
“He has the potential to impose his size on lesser opponents, but more skilled combatants will have the upper hand. Williams is more mauler than a mover in the run game, while his protection consistency should improve with more work. Experience should bring out his upside, but his ceiling could be an average starting right tackle.”
