Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo has been selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the No. 105 pick in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Ringo will forever be remembered in Bulldogs lore for his pick-six in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship against Alabama. The interception came with just under a minute left that secured the victory for Georgia.

Seven Bulldogs starting defenders from that championship were drafted to the NFL last season. Five of them were chosen in the first round of the draft, led by No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker.

Two defensive backs were drafted in Lewis Cine and Derion Kendrick. Cine was No. 32 overall pick and went to the Minnesota Vikings. Kendrick was a sixth round pick of the Los Angeles Rams. He made six starts this past campaign for the then-defending Super Bowl champs.

This past season, Ringo started all 15 games on Georgia’s run to its second-straight national title. He was named to the All-SEC second team. He had started 12 of the 15 games during the 2021 season when he made the All-SEC freshman team.

Ringo redshirted his first year on campus with the Bulldogs due to a labrum injury.

He attended the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro, where he was the No. 4 overall recruit and No. 1 cornerback in the 2020 On3 Industry Ranking. What NFL draft analysts are saying about Kelee Ringo

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein says that Kelee Ringo’s NFL comparison is Jimmy Smith, who helped the Baltimore Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII.

“Boundary corner with an impressive blend of size and athleticism,” Zierlein wrote in his report on Ringo. “Ringo is uniquely suited to travel the field and match talents against some of the bigger targets in the league. He can press and does a nice job of controlling plays in front of him from off coverages. However, he is very average at anticipating breaks and transitioning with them to squeeze the top of the route. His physicality in coverage and in run support are big assets in his favor, but there is still work to be done in consistency of coverage. Ringo’s traits will be highly coveted and he has a chance to become a very good NFL cornerback if his route recognition continues to develop.”
