Philadelphia Police make several arrests, issue 31 citations during rowdy Eagles NFC Championship celebrations
A segment of Philadelphia Eagles fans went too far in their celebrations in the aftermath of the team’s NFC Championship Game victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
After the 55-23 win over Washington, the party was on in the streets of Philadelphia. But that party turned into something very different — in some cases.
According to TMZ Sports, two men — Jose Moya and Eugene Dennis — are behind bars over allegations of assaulting police officers who were working NFC Championship Game detail, per the Philadelphia Police Department. Another man — Tramayne Davis-Blockson — was placed into custody after he allegedly stabbed someone in the leg following a verbal altercation.
“The PPD also said it’s investigating two shootings, a vandalism incident and the vehicle crash into a crowd that injured multiple pedestrians,” TMZ wrote in its report. “Additionally, cops say they’re on the hunt for the man who was seen on video appearing to fire a gun in the air during an Eagles victory celebration in a crowded street.”
31 fans were issued citations for disorderly conduct or failure to disperse.

As for the Eagles, they are headed to their third Super Bowl since 2017. Their last came in defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs just two years ago. Philadelphia has been waiting to get back and now, the rematch is just two weeks away.

The Eagles clinched their spot with a dominant triumph over the Commanders. Quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed 10 times for 16 yards and three touchdowns. He completed 20-of-28 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown, without throwing an interception.
But it was running back Saquon Barkley who led the way to the tune of 118 yards and three scores. The 2,000-yard rusher chose the Eagles this past offseason for a reason — “to be a part of games like this.”
“That’s why I came here. It was one of the first conversations I had with Howie [Roseman]. That’s one of the conversations I had with my family. Like I said last week, I came to Philadelphia to be a part of games like this,” Barkley said after the game. “Nothing better than a game where you can advance to the Super Bowl, so super excited about that. It was a team effort and want to give a shoutout to all the guys on our team.”
