Report: Pittsburgh Steelers among teams interested in Davante Adams
Davante Adams requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, and there’s a ton of interest in the superstar wide receiver around the league.
Some of the teams that came to the forefront of everyone’s mind included the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys, but the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are currently 3-1 and haven’t hit their stride in the passing game, reportedly have interest in doing a deal for Adams, as well.
According to NFL reporter Josina Anderson, Pittsburgh is willing to discuss a trade for the wide receiver: “I’m told the #Steelers do have preliminary interest in at least discussing a potential trade for #Raiders WR Davante Adams, per source,” Anderson posted on X.
Adams would be a nice piece to add to the Steelers offense, if Pittsburgh can pull off a deal. The wide receiver is in his third season with the Raiders after coming over via trade from the Green Bay Packers in 2022.
He originally signed a five-year, $140 million extension with Las Vegas and still has three years remaining. He did not suit up against the Browns, as he dealt with a hamstring injury in Week 4.

Questions about Adams’ future in Vegas further grew after head coach Antonio Pierce appeared to “like” an Instagram post. It included a screenshot of a post from Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano telling fans not to be surprised if Adams played his last snap with the Raiders.
Through three games this season, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown after an up-and-down 2023 season. He turned in his lowest production since 2019, totaling 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns as the Raiders struggled.
Moving forward, it’ll be fascinating to see if the Raiders do in fact strike a deal to send the wide receiver packing, and if Davante Adams can rekindle his past success with a different team. Evidently, the situation in Las Vegas has become volatile, and it’s time for the two parties to end their relationship, and give the wide receiver a fresh start.
