Pittsburgh Steelers star TJ Watt earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 6 performance versus the Seattle Seahawks. Watt played a pivotal role for the Steelers to pull out the 23-20 win in overtime.

Watt finished with seven tackles, two sacks for a loss of 13 yards, three pass defenses and a forced fumble. His sack on Geno Smith forced the Seahawks to punt on their opening possession of OT.

Then, Watt had a strip-sack on Smith, allowing for a Devin Bush scoop and recovery. The Steelers went on to kick a 37-yard field goal for the win.

“I don’t think anyone is surprised by (Watt’s) ability to deliver in those moments,” said Mike Tomlin post-game. “Yes, he’s a great player, but it’s about what he’s willing to do in terms of preparation and conditioning himself and all of those things. It’s not anything mystical about that play-making, man. We’re talking about a guy that’s really talented, that works extremely hard, that’s hyper-focused, prepared physically and mentally, so that’s what happens.”

TJ Watt is ninth in the league with five sacks through six weeks.

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Matthew Wright and Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry also earned Week 6 honors from the AFC.

Derrick Henry had 143 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the Titans’ three-point win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

Matthew Wright, a UCF alum, kicked three field goals and two extra points to help the Jags seal their first win under Urban Meyer.

Claypool leads TJ Watt fan club

Chase Claypool took to Twitter following the Pittsburgh Steelers victory last night, where he took a hilarious victory lap.

“Official T.J. Watt fan page,” tweeted Claypool following the win.

Claypool spoke for everyone in Pittsburgh with his tweet, as the aforementioned Watt propelled the Steelers to victory.

While Claypool didn’t have the most productive game, he’s simply happy the Steelers were able to get the win. In the game, the former Notre Dame wide receiver had two catches for 16 yards.

If it wasn’t for Watt, the play of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger might have been the topic of the day. Roethlisberger threw for 229 yards and a touchdown, but he also had an ugly fumble during the game. At times, his ineffective play held the Steelers offense back once again.

The Steelers have a much-needed bye week this week before a huge divisional matchup on Halloween — a showdown in Cleveland with the Browns.
