Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cleveland Browns Wednesday injury report
Ahead of their matchup this week, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns have made their injury reports available from Wednesday’s practice. The Steelers come back from the bye week fully rested, while the Browns appear battered from the past several weeks. Continue checking the injury report for more on quarterback Baker Mayfield, who hopes to start on Sunday.
Steelers and Browns injury list
Did Not Practice – Steelers: N/A
The Pittsburgh Steelers get great Wednesday injury news ahead of their Week Eight matchup with the Cleveland Browns. With no players out, it appears the injury management of bye week paid off.
Did Not Practice – Browns: DE Jadeveon Clowney (Ankle/Groin/Knee), DT Malik Jackson (Knee), S Richard LeCounte III (NIR-Discipline), WR Jarvis Landry (Knee), WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (Groin), CB Denzel Ward (Hamstring)
The Cleveland Browns were lacking many marquee names on Wednesday. Defensive stars Jadeveon Clowney, Malik Jackson and Denzel Ward all dealt with injuries which held them out of practice. Wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Donovan Peoples-Jones also missed practice.
Limited Participation – Steelers: QB Ben Roethlisberger (Pectoral/Hip), LB Melvin Ingram (Groin), WR Chase Claypool (Hamstring)
Three big names headline the Steelers injury report as limited participants. Starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger continues to manage his multiple injuries, but told reporters this week he feels healthier after the bye week. Wide receiver Chase Claypool is expected to take on an increased role down the stretch, following JuJu Smith-Schuster’s season-ending injury.

Limited Participation – Browns: WR Odell Beckham Jr. (Shoulder), RB Nick Chubb (Calf), OT Jack Conklin (Knee), LB Tony Fields II (Illness), CB A.J. Green (Groin), OG Blake Hance (Elbow), QB Baker Mayfield (Shoulder), LB Malcolm Smith (Abdomen), C JC Tretter (Knee), OT Jedrick Wills Jr. (Ankle), LB Mack Wilson (Calf)
Tallying the players who did not participate or were limited in practice, the Browns spent time without 17 players during Wednesday’s practice. With offensive starters Odell Beckham Jr., Nick Chubb, Jack Conklin, Baker Mayfield, JC Tretter and Jedrick Wills Jr. all limited, there are plenty of questions about the Browns availability on Sunday.
Full Participation – Steelers: RB Anthony McFarland Jr. (Knee), OT Zach Banner (Knee)
Reserve running back Antony McFarland Jr. and offensive tackle Zach Banner both dealt with knee injuries. However, both fully participated in Wednesday practice.
Full Participation – Browns: N/A
The Cleveland Browns had no injured players who participated fully on Wednesday. The team will hope to place more from the other categories here over the next couple days.
