The Pittsburgh Steelers’ Thursday injury report was fairly clean as they prepare for Sunday’s season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. As for the 49ers, though, they’re still nursing plenty of injuries as kickoff gets closer.

For Pittsburgh, only Cameron Heyward missed practice on Thursday. The Steelers listed his absence as “not injury related” (NIR), but had a stomach issue listed in his designation. It’s unclear what exactly the nature of the injury is, but it comes as he was limited on Wednesday with a non-injury designation.

Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi was the only other player listed on the Steelers’ injury report. He was limited for the second straight day with a foot injury, meaning his status is still not totally clear for Sunday’s opener.

As for the 49ers, multiple big names — including tight end George Kittle — were limited on Thursday due to injuries. Nick Bosa also appeared on that list, but he’s also working his way back after he came to an agreement on a record-setting contract to end his holdout. Despite his limited status, it’s safe to say he’ll be able to go against the Steelers.

Pittsburgh and San Francisco will kick off the 2023 season Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

Report: Cory Trice suffered torn ACL during training camp

The Steelers will be without rookie Cory Trice this year after he suffered a torn ACL during camp, according to Pro Football Network‘s Adam Caplan.

Pittsburgh placed Trice on injured reserve last month, but the diagnosis means he’ll miss his rookie season. The Steelers selected him with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Purdue, where he earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors as a redshirt senior as he totaled 34 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and two interceptions — including a pick-six.

Trice was one of two cornerbacks Pittsburgh selected in the first round, joining former Penn State standout Joey Porter Jr.
