Marshall edge rusher Mike Green, a projected first-round pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, revealed he was previously the subject of two sexual assault allegations but denied any wrongdoing, according to TMZ.

During a scheduled media availability Wednesday at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Green opened up about the previously undisclosed allegations while explaining why he was dismissed from Virginia in 2022 before transferring to Marshall.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Green, who led the NCAA with 17 sacks in 2024, reaffirmed his innocence, adding he had “done nothing wrong,” according to TMZ.

“There’s accusations out there. I’ve never been questioned,” Green said Wednesday, per TMZ. “I’ve never been asked. Nobody ever asked me a question about what happened before I departed from Virginia. It was just accusations that caused me to leave.”

Mike Green: ‘I have no grudges against the University of Virginia’

Green also expressed no ill will with how his time at Virginia ended, and even acknowledged he still speaks with Virginia head coach Tony Elliott.

“I held no grudges. I have no grudges against the University of Virginia,” Green said, according to TMZ. “I could have stayed at the university if I wanted to. After I got suspended, I wanted a fresh start. I wanted to go somewhere that I was able to lay down a foundation, and that’s what caused me to enter the transfer portal and go to Marshall.”

Green is a phyiscal freak with elite explosiveness off the edge that has him climbing up draft boards after his stellar 2024 season where he was named a first-team All-American and Sun Belt Player of the Year.

NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah recently ranked Green as his No. 17 overall prospect in his pre-Combine Top 50 ranking, citing his “excellent get-off and he can convert speed to power.”

“He has quick hands and wins with a dip/rip on the edge,” Jeremiah wrote of Green. “He has enjoyed success with spin moves, but he gets a little too reliant on them at times. I love his effort to keep working and refuse to stay blocked.”

It’s unclear how news of these allegations will impact his draft stock moving forward, but the fact that he was so forthcoming to both the press and NFL teams could certainly work in his favor come draft night.
