United States President Donald Trump took some time to meet with the families of the victims from the Jan. 1 terrorist attack in New Orleans before Super Bowl LIX on Sunday. Trump, who was in attendance for the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, posed for a photo with the families pregame.
He also met with first responders who were on the scene for the attack, which claimed the lives of 14 people. You can view the photo below.
Donald Trump was sworn into office as the 47th President of the United States last month. He becomes the first sitting U.S. President to ever attend a Super Bowl game.
According to the AP, the terrorist attack occurred toward the end of New Year’s celebrations, at 3:15 a.m. in New Orleans. It resulted in the Sugar Bowl, which was set to be played New Year’s Day at the Caesars Superdome, being postponed until the next day.
The community has spent the next month-plus recovering from the heartbreaking incident as it prepared to host the Super Bowl, and is plenty to look forward to for those in attendance. But this moment before the game was a reminder of those affected.

Williams doing the crip walk is not new as she did it during her playing career. She recently did it last year while hosting the ESPY Awards. At the time, Williams was taking a shot at Drake who is in a big feud with Kendrick Lamar.
After the halftime show, Serena Williams reacted to her performance. “Let’s go Super Bowl halftime??! I died a little!” she wrote on X.
Many fans were wondering if Lamar would have surprises during his show, and Williams was one of them. During his press conference, Lamar was asked what fans could expect from his show.
“Storytelling,” Lamar said, per CNN. “I’ve always been very open about storytelling through all my catalogue and my history of music. And I’ve always had a passion about bringing that on whatever stage I’m on.”
