Carter provided the following statement to On3:
Dear Friartown, I want to extend a thank you to Kim & the PC coaching staff, coach Fernandez, coach Smith, coach Martin and coach Cooley. Thank you all for your guidance, your faith in me, and for molding me into not just a better player, but a better person. To all of my teammates, thank you for every practice, every game, every high, and every low. The bonds we’ve formed are unbreakable, and the memories we’ve created will stay with me forever. To the greatest fans and supporters, Friartown, your energy and passion have been my drive. Every bit of encouragement has meant the world to me. Playing in front of you has been an honor.
Lastly to my loved ones, your unwavering love and belief have been my cornerstone. Thank you to my mom for always being there for me, supporting me and sacrificing a lot for me to play and make every game. Thank you to my dad for spending many summer morning and nights working out. Pushing me past limits, believing in me and always being there for me.
This is not goodbye; it’s just a new chapter in this incredible journey from God. I am thrilled about what lies ahead and am committed to making all of you proud as I take this next step.
After a lot of reflection and discussions with those closest to me, I’ve reached a decision that marks both an end and a beginning. I will be forgoing my senior year at Providence College to enter the 2024 NBA Draft.
