Puka Nacua injury update: NFL insider reveals extent of Rams WR practice injury
On Thursday, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua left practice early due to a knee injury. Later that day, ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided an update on Nacua’s condition.
“Puka Nacua’s knee injury is not believed to be serious, per sources,” Schefter wrote on X. “His status on Sunday’s game at Seattle still is to be determined, but it does not appear to be any type of significant injury.”
Rams fans can collectively take a sigh of relief. Nacua returned to the field last week for the first time since suffering a knee injury in the Rams’ loss against the Detroit Lions.
His comeback game was nothing short of spectacular. Nacua erupted for seven catches and 106 yards on nine targets, boosting the Rams to a 30-20 win over the Vikings. With the win, the Rams improved to 3-4 on the season.
Nacua’s injury in Week 1 was to his posterior cruciate ligament, which he initially injured in training camp but reaggravated against the Lions. The Rams didn’t rush Nacua’s recovery, hoping to prevent any further aggravation.

After all, the organization plans on Nacua being a cornerstone of its offense for the foreseeable future. In his debut campaign last season, Nacua tallied the most receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) by a rookie in NFL history.
Further, Nacua caught nine passes for 181 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown, in the Rams’ 24–23 loss to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Wild Card Round — the most receiving yards in a playoff game by a rookie ever.
Now, the Rams can only provide Puka Nacua with proper rest as he recovers from the slight injury on Thursday. On Sunday, the Rams will square off against the Seattle Seahawks at 4:25 p.m. ET. The game will air live on FOX.
