“Rams WR Puka Nacua aggravated his summer knee injury Sunday night vs. the Lions and, while he still is going through additional testing, he is expected to be considered week to week, per sources,” wrote Schefter.

Nacua suffered the injury to his right knee during the second quarter of the opener last night against the Lions. He initially went into the medical tent where they re-taped the knee with him questionable to return. However, after halftime, Los Angeles announced that he would be out for the remainder of the game after he was carted off the field in Detroit.

Before his exit, Nacua caught all four of his passes for 35 yards, including a long of 16 yards. He also logged a rush that went for seven yards.

This loss could be a major one for LA considering how impressive that Nacus was as a rookie last season. He was a Pro Bowler after posting 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns as the Rams’ leading receiver. Those also set the rookie records for receptions and receiving yardage. That earned him second place in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting behind only CJ Stroud as the only other player with a first-place vote.

This reported diagnosis is a positive with him up for reevaluation as early as this weekend. The question now is how many games that it could cost him and his team with their next two games being divisional ones starting on Sunday at Arizona.

Nacua carted off ahead of second half against the Lions

Puka Nacua did not play in the second half of the team’s season opener against the Detroit Lions.

The Rams announced that Nacua was out after suffering a knee injury in the first half.
