Rachel DeMita addresses being fired by the Big 3 over Caitlin Clark tweets

Personality Rachel DeMita was recently fired from Big 3 after tweeting out highlights of the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark in the WNBA. DeMita’s posts came while she was working at a Big 3 event back in February.
On Friday night, DeMita not only confirmed she was fired by the league but also broke down the entire situation. She began by reading the statement sent to her by the Big 3, where they expressed their displeasure with DeMita tweeting about Clark.
“It has come to Big 3’s attention that Ms. DeMita was posting on her social media platforms during this past weekend’s Big 3 games and promoting the competing New York Liberty vs. Indiana Fever WNBA that was being broadcast at the same time,” a statement from the Big 3 said, read by DeMita.
“The league is extremely dismayed and disappointed by Ms. DeMita’s severe lapse in judgment while performing services for the league, during which time she should have reasonably known that she should have been promoting only league games. The league provided her with unique access and opportunity to be a focal point on a national broadcast, so management was completely taken aback to learn that she was posting about another league’s games while rendering services.”
DeMita then went into more detail on the situation in a video spanning five minutes. You can watch the full thing here.

More on Rachel DeMita’s tweets while working for Big 3
The game in question occurred on February 13, when the Indiana Fever hosted the defending WNBA Champion New York Liberty. Caitlin Clark, who had missed five consecutive games, returned and set the basketball world ablaze when she drilled three consecutive deep three-point shots. The Fever took down the Liberty 102-88 in the Commissioner’s Cup game, but there was just one problem for DeMita.
While she was tweeting highlights of Clark’s stellar shots, she was supposed to be covering four week one Big3 games. The matchups consisted of Dwight Howard‘s LA Riot vs Michael Beasley‘s Miami 305, Corey Brewer‘s Houston Rig Hands vs Isaiah Briscoe‘s DMV Trilogy, Joe Johnson‘s Detroit Amps vs Jason Richardson‘s Chicago Triplets and Jonathon Simmons‘ Boston Ball Hogs vs Paul Millsap‘s Dallas Power.
