Can Ryan Blaney go back-to-back? While that’s a difficult task to accomplish in the NASCAR Cup Series, Racing Insights believes the driver of the No. 12 car will return to Victory Lane for a second consecutive week.

With the Enjoy Illinois 300 just around the corner, Racing Insights provided an update on the top-10 finishers for this weekend’s race in St. Louis at World Wide Technology Raceway. It projects Blaney taking home another checkered flag, less than a week after winning the Coca-Cola 600.

Racing Insights is the “main provider of statistical analysis for national broadcasts of major American Motorsports.”

It also projects NASCAR Cup Series points leader Ross Chastain finishing in fifth and William Byron — a three-time winner this season — finishing in the fifth spot. Last year’s winner, Joey Logano, is expected to finish in third.

Here’s the complete top-10 (via NASCAR.com):

  1. Ryan Blaney (#12)
  2. Martin Truex Jr. (#19)
  3. Joey Logano (#22)
  4. Kyle Larson (#5)
  5. William Byron (#24)
  6. Kevin Harvick (#4)
  7. Kyle Busch (#8)
  8. Ross Chastain (#1)
  9. Christopher Bell (#20)
  10. Brad Keselowski (#6)

Drivers will be on a somewhat shortened week heading to St. Louis. Due to inclement weather, the Coca-Cola 600 got bumped from Sunday to Monday — and more rain delays caused the race to run longer than expected.

So, Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300 could continue to be a test of drivers’ resiliency and stamina.

Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300 from World Wide Technology Raceway is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. The race airs on FS1.

NASCAR legend to drive pace car at Enjoy Illinois 300

NASCAR welcomes a legend back to the racetrack this weekend. Rusty Wallace, a Hall of Fame driver and former Cup Series Champion, will lead the field for the Enjoy Illinois 300.

Wallace prepared his iconic “Midnight” No. 2 Miller Genuine Draft car for Sunday’s race. Wallace, a St. Louis native, will be a fan favorite at World Wide Technology Raceway this weekend.

“My favorite hot rod’s tuned up and ready to go!” Wallace wrote, posting a video of the car. “See you soon, St. Louis!”

NASCAR inducted Wallace into its Hall of Fame in 2013. Additionally, he’s a member of the St. Louis Sports and Missouri Sports Hall of Fames.

Wallace’s NASCAR career stretched across 25 years. He participated in more than 700 races, claiming 55 victories and finishing in the top-10 349 times. His NASCAR Cup Series championship came in the 1989 season.
