For Sam Mayer and Justin Allgaier, things are not going well at New Hampshire and it has to do with their radios. This NASCAR Xfinity Series race is going to feel like the race from hell.

Sam Mayer and Justin Allgaier are hearing constant beeps in their radios as they go around the track at New Hampshire. JR Motorsports is trying to figure out why it is happening to their radios and right now, there is no answer.

This would drive me insane. Get me out of the car, turn my radio off, I’ll race without a spotter. Forget it!

If you are braver than me, you will listen to this almost two minutes of audio from Matt Weaver of Sportsnaut.

Sam Mayer and Justin Allgaier aren’t having terrible races. Still, the noise in their ears cannot help them in any way. That kind of noise is distracting and can throw you off your rhythm if you aren’t careful.

UPDATE: Around Lap 115 of 200, Mayer’s team was able to figure things out and correct the issue. No more beeping. It is unclear if Allgaier was also able to get rid of the noise, but at least JRM found the solution for one of their drivers.

So, now the race is getting to the nitty gritty. New Hampshire is a flat track, but it is also one that takes skill and know-how. A driver like Christopher Bell has the know-how. During his NASCAR career, he has five wins through the three national series.

Before this one ends, there will likely be fireworks. We have seen wet weather tires, radio issues, and eventually, the drivers will get antsy and start making aggressive moves.

Sam Mayer looking for another win

Battling for a spot in the top-10 for much of the race, Sam Mayer is looking to win his second race in a row. It doesn’t look promising. Then again, he has won a race late without leading a ton of laps in the past.

Mayer wants to be seen as a Cup Series prospect. He let his feelings be known that he was frustrated he wasn’t named as a candidate for an open Cup seat. A talented driver, but still only 20 years old, Mayer has a lot to prove still. Even with six wins, there is a lot of volatility to Mayer’s performance.

Last week, Mayer won the Iowa race. However, he upset Riley Herbst in the process. Right now, it doesn’t seem the two drivers will continue their beef. At least, for the moment. That is always subject to change.

Sam Mayer is a winning driver. That much is for certain. He has six checkered flags since the start of 2023. There is more to NASCAR than just winning, though. At 20, Mayer should worry about developing and finding the right opportunity, not just any opportunity.
