Raheem Morris gives his plan for Bijan Robinson: 'Get the ball to Bijan as much as you can'
Raheem Morris has a plan for Bijan Robinson that Atlanta Falcons fans are going to love. While speaking to reporters during minicamp last week, the Falcons head coach revealed how the team’s star running back will be used during the 2024 season.
“In a simplest form as you can possibly make it is get the ball to Bijan as much as you can in as many ideal situations that you possibly can,” Morris said. “For him, he’s so talented. You don’t want to limit the things he can do, but you also don’t want to water it down that he’s not doing anything that he can do great.
“When you get the ball in his hand, he makes people miss. He gets extra yards, he’s able to fight for extra yards, he breaks tackles, he’s fast, he’s explosive, he’s strong, he can do so many things you can get overwhelmed sometimes maybe as a play caller or as a designer. But for him, I really think he enjoys the whole process. I think he compared himself to that Christian McCaffrey role. If we can get anywhere near the great player that Christian McCaffrey is, I think we’ll all be pretty excited.”
Robinson had a strong rookie season, registering 1,463 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns in 2023. His production led to him being named a finalist for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Bijan Robinson explains his role on offense
Earlier this month, Robinson talked about his role in the offensive scheme. “Me and [offensive coordinator] Zac [Robinson] talk every day just about these kind of these kind of routes and how we can get open on some different things or how we can use the scheme to just affect a linebacker, DB or safety,” Robinson said.
“It’s good to have communication like that obviously, because last year I was trying to learn everything and get everything down for what the offense was already. But, this year, with the new offense and having to install with that, and how I can ask questions now and how we can come to agreements — it’s been really fun to be a part of it.”
Robinson will play a big role in a Falcons offense that has a new look. The team acquired quarterback Kirk Cousins during the offseason, and the expectations are high as the Falcons are projected to win 10 games in 2024.
