The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a major blow on Sunday, after losing a key offensive weapon to an ankle injury suffered against the Washington Football Team. Running back Kenyan Drake broke his ankle in the game on Sunday, and is reportedly out for the remainder of the season.

Raiders lose Kenyan Drake to ankle injury

“Running back Kenyan Drake suffered a broken ankle in today’s game,” stated NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “He is out for the season. Drake, the team’s second-leading rusher, was ruled out quickly in the loss to the Washington Football Team.”

Drake was forced out of the game with his injury, and is now unavailable for the remainder of the season. Drake finished his day on Sunday with only one reception for eight yards.

Drake has been a feature of the Raiders offense as an option at running back and as a pass catcher. Despite only rushing for 254 yards this season, he has two touchdowns on the ground.

Former Alabama players hurt on Sunday

Baltimore Ravens’ star defensive back Marlon Humphrey suffered a season ending shoulder injury Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to be out for the rest of the 2021 season, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

It’s a significant blow to the Ravens’ secondary, as Humphrey has long been one of the best defensive backs in the league. Baltimore has suffered a number of season ending injuries this season at a variety of positions.

Humphrey was a star in high school, at Alabama, and he’s been a star for much of his NFL career. Simply put, he’s been one of the best defensive backs in the game of football at every level he’s played.

This season, the former Alabama star had one of the more bizarre interceptions you’ll ever see against the Las Vegas Raiders, when he was defending Raiders star tight end Darren Waller in Week 1. He intercepted the pass and didn’t even realize he had the football in his arms.
