The NFL schedule has been a major talking point over the last couple of weeks. It’s not only about the matchups but also the way the NFL can build it. That’s specifically true of the league flexing matchups, which they officially approved earlier today. However, to Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis, he was not one of the people who voted in favor of that change.

In a conversation with USA Today’s Jarrett Bell, he said he’d prefer that the league play the schedule as it’s originally slated, especially considering how it will affect fans who travel to see those specific matchups.

Absolutely not,” Davis stated when discussing the then-proposed flexing.

“If you have a Raiders-Chargers game in Las Vegas scheduled for a Thursday? And all of the fans driving from Los Angeles…buy their tickets and book their hotels? How in the hell do you schedule it and now say, ‘Sorry, it’s now on Sunday?'” asked Davis. “How in the hell do you do that?”

Per the latest reports on the approved flexing, the NFL can now switch better games onto Thursday Night Football. That can only take place from Week 13 through Week 17, though. It will also only happen if the NFL deems is as needed too.

Still, Davis makes a fair point. Not every fan is one that is from in town. Travel is a big part of a fanbase’s experience. That includes means for travel, a place to stay, food, and so on and so forth. If you start flexing games, that could cost plenty of passionate fans a chunk of change on top of making it to where they may not be able to come to the game.

However, Davis’ concerns have come true with this vote. We’ll just now have to wait and see how it affects the NFL schedules once those designated weeks come upon us.

Green Bay set to host the 2025 NFL Draft

The NFL has named a location for the 2025 NFL Draft. It’s heading to Green Bay, continuing its theme of visiting various cities to host the annual event.

The Packers made the announcement regarding the 2025 NFL Draft. It will take place inside and around Lambeau Field, one of the league’s most iconic stadiums. It will also spill into Titletown, the area surrounding the stadium.

The 2023 NFL Draft was hosted in Kansas City. Next year’s event is heading to Detroit.

“The Draft has become a prominent offseason event hosted in different cities with spectacular locations across the country, and we are excited to work with the Packers and Discover Green Bay to bring the 2025 NFL Draft to Green Bay and iconic Lambeau field,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. “With the help of numerous local partners on the ground, our prospects and fans will be treated to an incredible week-long experience that shows off the city of Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin.”
