While they were able to get the O’Reilly Auto Parts 150 going eventually, the NASCAR Truck Series was in a messy race. These drivers were doing their best to keep their trucks underneath of them, but the wet weather made it almost impossible.

Mid-Ohio is a tricky course, to begin with. You add standing water on the track after some heavy rain, and it just makes things chaotic. After a lightning delay to start, the trucks were spinning around, doing 360s, and kept driving.

If you wanted to see a truck race, this is the one. We had almost as much offroading as racing on the track in Stage 1. There were trucks in the grass, in the sane gunning it to get out, and even a little bit of mud-slinging at some points in the race.

The first start made it halfway through Turn 1 before the caution flew again.

One of the best displays of driving came from Tanner Gray. He was trying to make it happen in that No. 15 Toyota Tundra. When he came off the rack and into the sand, the former drag racer hit the pedal and kept on the gas.

He got those RPMs to rev up and after taking the long way around, made it out of the dirt.

Even as the race swapped to slicks and came winding down, things were wild. These NASCAR drivers were put to the limits and this track proved difficult. There were plenty of reps for these safety crews.

The tow truck might have gotten more work at Mid-Ohio than all the other tow trucks this NASCAR season combined.

NASCAR Truck Series goes road course racing

This race was interesting from the start for many reasons. It wasn’t just the weather, it was who was in the race as well. Dale Quarterly ran well in the ARCA race and the elder race car driver was doing his best all afternoon in the Truck Series.

The additions of Marco Andretti as well as Conor Daly in this race spiced things up. Both drivers were involved at different points in the race and put on a good show in their first starts of the season. Andretti made his career debut in the rain at Mid-Ohio.

Lots of cautions, but lots of hard chargers as well. Drivers like Rajah Caruth, Nick Sanchez, and Tyler Ankrum battled all day for their spots. Ben Rhodes was wrecked by his own teammate and turned it around to run in the top-10.

This one is likely going to end just as wild as it as been all afternoon. The NASCAR Truck Series is always interesting and this race provided a ton of action.
