Rajah Caruth hints at 2024 Truck Series season at NYC short-film screening
While the NASCAR season is over, Rajah Caruth isn’t stopping. He was in New York City for a screening of Outside Line, a short film about the driver. Caruth hasn’t officially announced his 2024 plans as far as which team he will drive for. However, he gave a little insight into what next season might look like for him.
Rajah Caruth is one of the stars of tomorrow. An iRacing driver turned real-life race car driver. Caruth shows a ton of potential and poise. He’s also a driver that could be marketed to sponsors and fans. His first full-time season in the Truck Series didn’t go according to plan.
While at a screening for Outside Line, Caruth spoke with Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports. He wishes he had done just a bit better this past season in trucks.
“If I put together the back half of the season like I did the first part of the year I think I would have been in the mix for a playoff spot,” Caruth lamented. “I didn’t finish worse than 14th from after Richmond all the way to Phoenix. Really frustrated because I feel like I ran the best I could and put together races a lot better in the last half of the year.”
Expect a full-time Truck Series schedule in 2024. Also, that Hendrick connection seems to have gotten stronger since his Phoenix start.
“Thankfully I’ll be able to bring some of my guys over to what I’m doing next year so that will be great to have that continuity. At the same time, I think the situation I’ll be in, it will be the best stuff in trucks I’ve been in ever so it’ll be pretty awesome. Phoenix went pretty well for Hendrick so hopefully, that pans out as well.”

Where could Rajah Caruth end up in 2024?
Now is the fun part, speculation. Rajah Caruth raced with GMS Racing this season. He was solid, not perfect. There were mechanical issues during races he was running well at. Then there were rookie mistakes. However, his flashes of talent, car control, and willingness to learn make him an interesting prospect.
There are a lot of changes happening with the Truck Series. GMS Racing’s trucks will have to go somewhere. Spire Motorsports bought out Kyle Busch Motorsports. That leaves possibly a few trucks up for grabs there, and in good equipment, too.
I don’t think Caruth is following the old GMS team wherever they are going to end up. He said he’s going to be in the best equipment he’s ever been in. Gainbridge and Group 1001 have made a massive investment into Spire, including the KBM purchase, that looks like the landing spot to me.
Let’s also not forget that Spire and Hendrick have a comfortable relationship with one another. They say when there’s smoke there’s fire. I’m not sure there is smoke at this point, but I’m starting to smell something burning.
