This year is a big one for Rajah Caruth. He won his first NASCAR race, was Most Popular Truck Series Driver, and will graduate tomorrow. Caruth is set to leave Winston-Salem State University with a degree in motorsports management.

Having a job in college can be tough. Being a professional athlete that travels across the country can’t make it much easier. Winston-Salem State University highlighted Rajah Caruth recently for his achievements.

Caruth has been balancing NASCAR and school for the last four years. With graduation on the horizon, he should have more time to focus on the track. At any rate, Caruth has been a positive force at Winston-Salem State.

“It’s important for a program like this to have tangible and legitimate pathways for a student to get involved in the sport,” Rajah said in a feature from WSSU. “The school has provided me a lot, not only on the professional side but personally – helping me grow as a Black man in this country and learning how to carry myself in professional environments.”

At Las Vegas in March this year, Rajah Caruth earned his first career win in the Truck Series. He joined Wendell Scott and Bubba Wallace as the only Black drivers to win in a NASCAR national series.

Tomorrow he will graduate with a degree from an HBCU. It has been a big year for Caruth, but 2025 could be even bigger.

Rajah Caruth and Spire Motorsports ready for 2025

After winning a race last season, Rajah Caruth is going to be focused on following it up in 2025. He is the best driver they have in the Truck Series. He will return alongside Chase Purdy in 2025, and there could be another third driver if not an all-star truck entry as well.

Bad news for Caruth and others, Corey Heim is still in the Truck Series. He will likely be the favorite to win the championship and win the most races next year. But that doesn’t mean drivers like Caruth can’t close the gap.

Spire Motorsports has a ton of money behind it right now. They are tied up in the same ownership group that is going to take Cadillac to Formula 1 in 2026. The same group that owns the LA Dodgers and Chelsea Premier League team.

Rajah Caruth will be a driver to watch next season. He won’t have his obligations at school going on and that should actually free him up to focus more on racing. It will be interesting to see if we see a difference on the track.
