Randy Moss battling liver cancer, according to Larry Fitzgerald Sr.
NFL legend Randy Moss has been out of the spotlight of late dealing with what has been a mysterious health issue. And it is reportedly quite a serious one.
Moss has liver cancer, according to longtime sports reporter Larry Fitzgerald Sr., who shared that he’d learned this at the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame ceremony. Fitzgerald relayed the news with a brief message on social media.
“66th NFF Hall of of Fame Ceremony here in Las Vegas just heard that Vikings HOF Randy Moss has liver cancer. Let’s show the power of prayer and pull Moss through this,” Fitzgerald said, along with several praying hands emojis. “I love you Randy.”
Randy Moss’ son Thaddeus has since refuted the report, calling it ‘disgusting’ by the reporter.
Moss has been out of the public eye and stepped away from his role as an NFL analyst on ESPN while dealing with his health. His absence from ESPN’s NFL coverage was announced in early December.

“Randy Moss will step away from ‘Sunday NFL Countdown’ for an extended time to focus on a personal health challenge,” ESPN said in a statement. “He briefly addressed the matter at the start of the show on Dec. 1. For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating ‘Countdown’ with his insight and passion. He has ESPN‘s full support, and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready.”
Moss, a Pro Football Hall of fame wideout, revealed recently that “me and my wife, me and my family, we are battling something internally.”
“Well good morning, man. I just wanted to share something with you all, man,” Moss said to open the show. “I put a post up maybe a few minutes ago on Instagram just telling people, just, you were talking about my eyes last week, and I just want to let the viewers know that me and my wife, me and my family, we are battling something internally.
“Have some great doctors around me. I couldn’t miss the show, I wanted to be here with you guys. I feel great. But if you all see me with these Michigan turnover glasses that I have on, it’s not being disrespectful. Because I’m on television, man. I’m battling something, I need all the prayer warriors. God bless you all and thanks for the prayers.”
