Ravens add cornerback Trayvon Mullen off waivers
The Baltimore Ravens have signed cornerback Trayvon Mullen off waivers, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday. Mullen is set to enter his fifth NFL season and spent time with both the Cardinals and Cowboys in 2022.
Mullen appeared in a combined nine games — all but one of which came with Arizona — in 2022 to record 13 tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defended. He is a former second-round pick in 2019 out of Clemson who spent the first three years of his career with the Raiders.
Mullen started all 16 games for Las Vegas in the 2020 season, recording 64 tackles, two interceptions and 14 passes defended. He returned as a starter in 2021 but suffered a pair of injuries that limited him to just five games. The Raiders then traded Mullen to the Cardinals ahead of 2022.
Mullen is a two-time national champion at Clemson in the 2016 and 2018 seasons. He ended his college career with 93 tackles, four interceptions, one forced fumble and seven passes defended.
Trayvon Mullen is set to join a Ravens team coming off of a 10-7 finish to the regular season. They lost in the Wild Card round of the playoffs to AFC North rival Cincinnati.

Baltimore ranked as the 13th-best passing defense in the NFL this past season with 6.2 air yards allowed per attempt. The Ravens also tied for 12th with 14 interceptions.
Mullen also has family ties Baltimore’s starting quarterback Lamar Jackson, as the two are cousins. Jackson is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and some have speculated the signing of Mullen could be an attempt to sway the star quarterback to return.
Regardless, Mullen will hope to provide depth to the Ravens secondary in 2023. He has totaled 150 tackles, four interceptions and 29 passes defended over his brief pro career.
