Derrick Henry is on a record-setting pace this season with the Baltimore Ravens but is switching something up. Sunday’s matchup against the New York Giants will officially debut Henry will a new hairstyle. Yes, the running back has cut off his signature dreads.

A video of Henry’s new hairstyle was posted on social media Tuesday afternoon. He was even holding the hair chopped off for a few moments, having his hands quite full. It puts into perspective how much hair Henry had grown throughout the years.

To say Henry looks different would be an understatement. His dreads have been a staple dating back to his time in college at Alabama. People in Tennessee have fond memories of him with the dreads, while Baltimore enjoyed how he played with him.

Hopefully, the hair change does not switch up how Henry plays on the field. You can check out the full transformation from Henry below.

A brief video of how Henry looks in uniform was shown after Baltimore got back on the practice field. If we’re being honest, nothing coming out of the back of his helmet is quite unusual and will take some time to get used to.

Henry has rushed for 1,407 yards and a league-leading 13 touchdowns through 13 games on 240 carries. Moving on from Tennessee has been quite beneficial for the running back, having the opportunity to get back over 2,000 yards for the second time in his career.

Rushing for 64 first downs makes him one of the NFL’s best as well, currently being tied with Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles for second place. Only Los Angeles’ Kyren Williams is ahead of them.

In some sports, changing up the hair during a good stretch could be seen as risky. Hopefully, for Henry, football does not turn out to be one of them. Results will be shown right away as Baltimore prepares to face New York.
