Ravens RB Derrick Henry goes viral for reaction to Pro Bowl nomination

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry played it “cool” after learning he was named to the Pro Bowl. The team shared a video of general manager Eric DeCosta telling Henry he made the AFC roster of the Pro Bowl Games that will be played next month.
“Cool,” Henry said. And when DeCosta told Henry he was also voted to be a starter, Henry replied, “Bet.”
Henry is not too pumped about being named to the Pro Bowl for the fifth time in his career. In the video, DeCosta mentioned the Ravens have bigger goals for the 2024 season, and that’s winning their third Super Bowl in franchise history.
Then again, it’s not a big surprise to see Henry make the cut as he’s second in the NFL in rushing yards (1,783) and rushing touchdowns (14). Henry has rushed for over 1,500 yards in a season for the fourth time in his career.

Derrick Henry has made the Ravens better
“Obviously, having Derrick [Henry] and getting him running downhill has been good for us,” offensive coordinator Todd Monken told reporters Wednesday. “And there are certain things that we’ve evolved to, and there are other things that I think are better for Derrick and us when we’re under center. But I just think he does a great job with it, [and] Derrick has really blended in well with what we’ve asked him to do.”
In Henry’s last game, he rushed for 147 yards and one touchdown in a 31-2 victory over the Houston Texans on Christmas Day. “I mean, we never doubt ourselves or think we [are] not going to have success against any team,” Henry said after the game. “We believe in ourselves to go out there and do our job.”
Derrick Henry, 30, signed a two-year contract with the Ravens in March after spending his first eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans. “I’m grateful for this opportunity. This is a great organization,” Henry said during his introductory press conference. “My family’s here with me – my girlfriend Adrianna, my daughter Valentina, and Adrianna’s mom, Ms. Simona. Like [Eric DeCosta] said, I’ve had some great battles against the Ravens for five to seven years and, [I’m] happy and grateful to be a part of it. God is good, and [I’m] blessed for this opportunity.”
