Ravens vs. Chargers ref makes mind-boggling incomplete call on Mark Andrews touchdown
NFL fans were confused after seeing an official from the Baltimore Ravens vs. Los Angeles Chargers game rule a Mark Andrews touchdown reception incomplete. The play happened in the fourth quarter when Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a pass to Andrews in the end zone. Andrews had both feet in-bounds when he caught the pass, but the official, who was a few feet away from the play, ruled that he was out of bounds.
Thankfully, the ruling was overturned, and the Ravens increased their lead over the Chargers 23-16. The TD reception for Andrews gave him five catches for 44 yards. Before the Monday Night Football game, Andrews caught 32 passes for 379 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games.
In 2023, Andrews played in just 10 games during the regular season due to multiple injuries. He was looking to do big things last year after making the Pro Bowl the last two seasons.
Last month, Andrews caught his 42nd touchdown pass, the most in Ravens history. “Incredibly grateful,” Andrews said on breaking the record, per BaltimoreRavens.com. “Getting drafted to this incredible organization, I’ve been blessed with incredible teammates, obviously No. 8 and having that connection. … You got to look back at the guys like Todd Heap and the guys that have done it before you and just be grateful that I’m in this situation.”

Lamar Jackson reacts to Mark Andrews making Ravens history
“That’s crazy, man,” Jackson said of Andrews breaking the record. “We’ve been at it for a few years now. That’s great for Mark to have. I feel like he should have been had that, like last year, but we made it happen. And it’s only more touchdowns from here.”
Ultimately, Andrews is thankful to still be playing as he was involved in a scary accident in August. “It’s extremely scary, it’s definitely a serious thing,” Andrews said at the time. “For me, it puts things in perspective. Tell the people that you’re around that you love them. Wear your seatbelt. You never know what’s going to happen on the road. I’m very blessed and fortunate to have God on my side and to be wearing my seat belt. I feel good. I’m excited about the season.”
