The Las Vegas Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup, beating the Florida Panthers four games to one in the finals. That earned the player a chance to celebrate with the Cup and have their name carved into it. It’s a tremendous tradition and honor.

Among those players for Las Vegas is Reilly Smith, who decided to celebrate winning the Stanley Cup with his family by placing his infant in the Cup itself.

Watch as Reilly Smith decided to add his child to the Stanley Cup, here:

Someone behind Reilly Smith, presumably a family member, shouted to put the baby in the Cup. Other family members immediately agreed and Smith didn’t have any problem with it either, making sure the baby made it into Lord Stanley’s Cup.

It’s a moment that Smith will remember for his entire life and you really can’t blame him for taking the time to celebrate the win like this.

After the win, players will drink beer and champagne out of the Stanley Cup. They will celebrate and do some unbelievable things with the legendary trophy. So, there are some sanitary concerns that were likely ignored if Smith’s child had a leaky diaper.

Naturally, it wouldn’t have been the first young child to have an accident in the Stanley Cup. In 1998, Kris Draper’s daughter had an accident in the Cup. So did Rad Kelly’s son. That’s pretty gross but it seems like Smith’s child held their own while posing for photos. Rest assured, there will be some germs in that trophy but not from the child.

Reilly Smith had a goal and an assist in the series clinching win.

Tempers flared ahead of Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals

Following the final horn in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals, tempers flared. Las Vegas had established a dominating 3-1 series lead at this point and Florida was frustrated and tempers flared with multiple fights starting after the game was over.

In a way, it made sense for Florida to try and spark something. Win a couple of fights, earn a little momentum, and try to carry that into the next game.

Obviously, that didn’t work. The next game Las Vegas smelt blood in the water and jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period. Not wanting to give Florida a shot to come back, the Golden Knights added four goals in the second and another three in the third. Even with the Panthers adding three of their own goals, it was a dominating 9-3 win to take the Stanley Cup.
