Adrian Peterson‘s legal woes appear to be getting worse by the day.

The former NFL MVP running back is facing possible arrest after two arrest warrants were issued this week for his failure to appear in a Fort Bend County, Texas court for two different child support cases, according to USA Today.

“The current legal case is related to a misunderstanding regarding Adrian’s court appearances as it relates to child support, and he is actively working with his legal team to resolve this matter as quickly as possible,” Peterson’s publicist Denise White said in a statement issued to USA Today. “He is committed to clearing up this situation and moving forward positively.”

Peterson, who made more than $100 million over his 15-year NFL career (2007-21) and is widely projected to be a future Hall of Famer, has been facing judge-ordered property seizures to help pay off a more than $12 million debt, according to USA Today. The order, also issued in Fort Bend County, is the latest in a lengthy legal battle to force Peterson to pay back a $5.2 million loan he took out from a Pennsylvania lending company in 2016.

The former Minnesota Vikings running back recently pleaded no contest in October for a misdemeanor assault charge in Fort Bend after being accused of slapping a woman in May. Peterson was sentenced to pay a $500 fine with no jail time, according to court records obtained by USA Today.

The two separate child-support cases involve women from Minnesota as the custodial parents, according to USA Today. A Fort Bend County judge signed a qualified domestic relations order Monday that established the right of the child to receive a portion of Peterson’s NFL benefits for child support, per USA Today. The two warrants were issued with separate cash bonds of $9,500 and $7,500.

Adrian Peterson shoots down report he’s selling NFL trophies and memorabilia in estate sale

Peterson took to social media in late February to shoot down a report he’s selling trophies and memorabilia online. The website hibid.com posted a collection of Peterson’s awards in a catalog earlier that week.

Multiple items – including Peterson’s MVP and Offensive Rookie of the Year trophies – were posted on the website as part of the sale. However, Peterson said that happened without his permission and he had no intention of selling any of his awards.

He also promised to take the company to court and made it clear he’s “financially stable.”

“I want to clarify a recent rumor and media reports an estate sale company without my authorization included some of my trophies in a sale despite clear instructions to leave personal items untouched,” Peterson said in a video on X. “I did not authorize the sale of any of my trophies, and I will be taking legal action. Trusting this company without supervision was a mistake. We allowed them to go into several of our storage units with clear instructions. They clearly did something unlawful.

“I want to emphasize that I am financially stable and would never sell off my hard-earned trophies, and if I was going to sell them, I know people that I could sell them to. I wouldn’t go online and sell my personal items randomly. So let that sink in.”
