According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady has pulled out of the New Orleans head coach search. Brady will remain with Buffalo for the 2025 season, continuing to work under Sean McDermott.

The Bills have been one of the NFL’s top offenses with Josh Allen under center and Brady calling the plays. As they prepare for the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, some stability at offensive coordinator comes with it.

“Staying home: #Bills OC Joe Brady, the architect of the Buffalo offense, has elected to remain with the Bills and pull out of the #Saints HC search, per me and @TomPelissero,” Rapoport said via X. “New Orleans had wanted to interview Brady a second time, along with Kellen Moore. Brady sticks in BUF.”

This is the third season Brady has worked inside the Bills organization, having a few different roles. During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, he worked as the quarterbacks coach. Changes were made midseason in 2023, seeing Brady serve as the interim offensive coordinator.

Buffalo took the interim tag off ahead of this year and saw the offense flourish. From a scoring perspective, the Bills were No. 2 in all of the NFL at just over 30 points per game. Production in the playoffs has not slowed down either, scoring 31 against Denver and 27 vs. Baltimore.

Winning a Super Bowl is the ultimate goal in 2021 and the dream is certainly still alive. At the very least, Brady will have another attempt next year with the Bills.

As for the Saints, they are currently the only team with an opening at head coach. Rapoport highlighted a couple of candidates still available — one of which is another offensive coordinator preparing for a conference championship game.

“The #Saints are still planning on speaking with former #Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy and #Eagles OC Kellen Moore, along with their other in-person interviews,” Rapoport said via X.

New Orleans fired Dennis Allen after this season, who is now expected to be the Chicago Bears’ next defensive coordinator. A few questions still surround the Saints but none bigger than who will be the team’s next head coach.

One candidate can officially be crossed off the list with Brady deciding to remain with Buffalo.
