Big news for the Dallas Cowboys broke on Tuesday. First, Osa Odighizuwa was signed to a contract extension, keeping him in Dallas for the next four years. Then, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb restructured his contract to save the team $20 million heading into a critical free agency period for the team.

If you ask NFL Network’s Jane Slater, more is on the way. Slater spoke to a source within the Cowboys saying another cap space-saving move is in the works. She did not give a specific name as to who’s contract would be moved around but nonetheless, a move to help the team financially.

“And if ya liked today Cowboys fans I’m told ‘not done. Expect more maneuvering and space creation to come shortly,’ per source informed,” Slater said via X.

Slater then put out a quote tweet, having a GIF of a credit card being swiped on a machine. More news of Dallas spending money, something they have been reluctant to do on big-time free agents in the past, could have some traction.

There is still over a week until free agency in the NFL begins, slated for March 12 at 4 p.m. ET. While Dallas can work on all the contracts/players already inside the organization, nothing from the outside can occur until then.

Well, the Cowboys are reportedly stocking up for when the time comes. Maybe a change of mindset from the front office ahead of a massive offseason.

CeeDee Lamb explains reasoning behind restructuring Cowboys contract

Some cap space has opened up for the Dallas Cowboys thanks to CeeDee Lamb. The star wide receiver restructured his contract to give Dallas an extra $20 million to work with this offseason. Some free agency signings are needed but so was a little bit of capital.

Lamb was asked on social media why he decided to help the Cowboys out. His answer was a simple one — saying the goal is to win. If Dallas is going to be a contender for the 2025 season and beyond, Lamb understands more than just himself is needed.

“I want to win,” Lamb said via X. “It’s gonna take more than just myself.”

While plenty of people retweeted Lamb, one in particular stood out. Micah Parsons appears to share the same sentiment as No. 88. Parsons is going to be next up for a massive extension from the Cowboys and has stated multiple times he does not want negotiations to drag on.
