Getting offensive weapons was a big priority for the Dallas Cowboys heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. The same has stayed true when entering the undrafted free agent market. A tight end will reportedly be getting his career started in Dallas.

According to FOX’s Jordan Schultz, Auburn tight end Rivaldo Fairweather has signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. Fairweather is viewed as somebody with good size and good speed, potentially being a quality pickup for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

“Auburn TE Rivaldo Fairweather signing with #Cowboys, per source,” Schultz said via X. “Big dude at 6-4, 252 pounds who can really run.”

Fairweather played high school football at Fort Lauderdale (FL) Boyd Anderson, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,736 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

This past season was Fairweather’s second with Auburn but fifth in college football. FIU is where he committed coming out of high school before entering the NCAA transfer portal. The Tigers woun dup winning out, securing a big-time pass catcher.

Fairweather wound up catching 69 passes for 766 yards and eight touchdowns during his time on the Plains. Six of those scores came during the 2023 season, seeing his total dip down to two during his final run.

“I’ve been focusing on catching better,” Fairweather said ahead of the 2024 season. “Like I’ve been on the JUGS every day, catch 200 balls a day. Also blocking, my coach, coach Ben (Aigamaua), he’s been really helping us with that and indie drills. Just doing all the blocking stuff and working on better hand placement and stuff like that,” Fairweather said.

“In the last six months, I really focused on getting my body right. I kind of toned up a little bit and I’ve been grinding this offseason. Focus on making sure I’m in shape, having better stamina and stuff like that, so I can go out there and play every play and not want to come off the field because my team needs me out there.”

Now, he will be hoping for similar improvement going up to the next level. The Cowboys are going to give him a chance to make the roster this offseason. Dak Prescott loves to target his tight ends, especially if they are 6-4, 250 pounds.
