The New York Giants will re-sign receiver Darius Slayton to a three-year deal, Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reported Monday. He will make $36 million overall, which averages out to $12 million per season.

Slayton was a fifth round pick to the Giants out of Auburn in the 2019 NFL Draft and has spent every year since with the franchise. He finished the 2024 season with 39 catches for 573 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Overall across his six-year career, Slayton has totaled 259 catches for 3,897 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has still yet to surpass the 1,000-yard mark in a single season, with his highest total of 770 yards coming in 2023.

Darius Slayton finished third in the pecking order among Giants receivers this past season behind rookie Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson. He will likely continue to operate in that role in 2025.

Prior to his NFL career, Slayton played three seasons at Auburn from 2016-18. He finished his college career with 1,605 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns.

The Giants are coming off a 3-14 season in 2024 and have the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft. Many have wondered whether they will select a quarterback after releasing Daniel Jones in the middle of last season.

New York could also opt to sign a quarterback in free agency and his been rumored to be interested in both Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson. Regardless, Slayton will have a new quarterback throwing to him for the first time in his first six seasons with the Giants, as he was part of the same draft class as Jones.

NFL insider: New York Giants to ‘scour the earth’ for options at QB

The New York Giants’ search for a new quarterback continues after Matthew Stafford reached an agreement to re-sign with the Los Angeles Rams. The Giants were considered one of the front-runners for his services, and are now having to look elsewhere for help at under center.

Whether that comes in free agency, or at the 2025 NFL Draft remains to be seen. However, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler provided the latest on where the Giants stand in their quarterback search, including some names for fans to keep an eye on moving forward.

“I’m told that they’re basically going to scour the earth for quarterback help,” Fowler said during an appearance during SportsCenter on Saturday morning. “They were really left at the altar in the Matthew Stafford situation when he went back to LA. They spent about a month on that deal. It’s tough.

“You’ve got Aaron Rodgers there. Certainly, there seems to be a little momentum league-wide that Rogers could be a New York Giant. He still has a home in New Jersey when he played for the [Jets]. That could all shake out, but they’re expected to look at a lot of these guys.”

Apart from Rodgers, Fowler name-dropped the likes of Russell Wilson, who is a free agent after spending one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fowler called him a “sleeper” option for New York at the moment. He also mentioned Sam Darnold, who is coming off the best season of his career for the Minnesota Vikings and is not expected to be returning to the team next season.
