Dolphins rookie sensation De’Von Achane probably won’t play today during a special Black Friday game against the Jets.

This is according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The former Texas A&M standout came off of IR earlier this month. He then aggravated the knee injury last Sunday.

The Dolphins listed Achane as questionable on their final injury report before today’s game. He practiced each day, but was limited. And he’s one of eight players with that designation listed as their game status (see chart below). In addition, guard Robert Jones is doubtful.

Miami selected Achane in the third round of April’s NFL Draft. Before a knee injury sidelined him, Achane was setting NFL records.

In his NFL coming out party, Achane rushed for 201 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 70-20 win over the Broncos. He also had two touchdowns via receptions. He followed that game with 101 yards against the Bills, then 151 versus the Giants. Pre-injury, Achane was averaging 12.1 yards a carry.

The Dolphins placed Achane on IR in mid-October. The team split the four games, 2-2, while the running back was sidelined. He returned last week for a game against the Raiders. But he ran the ball only once for one yard.

Meanwhile, the Jets will feature someone new leading to the offense. Coach Robert Saleh announced that Tim Boyle, a one-time backup to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, will start today for the Jets. Saleh benched Zach Wilson after Sunday’s showing.
