Report: Eagles TE Dallas Goedert headed to injured reserve with knee injury
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is headed to injured reserve with a knee injury, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
“Eagles standout TE Dallas Goedert is headed to Injured Reserve because of his knee injury, sources tell me and Mike Garafolo,” Rapoport wrote on Twitter. “The plan is for him to be back at full speed heading into the playoffs.”
Goedert’s dealt with numerous injuries this season, playing in nine of 12 games in 2024. He has 38 catches for 441 yards and two touchdowns.
Considered one of the top tight ends in the league, Goedert got off to a slower start this year and now will be out til roughly the playoffs.
Geodert was drafted out of South Dakota State in the 2018 NFL Draft and has played his entire career in Philadelphia. Over the course of his career, Goedert has 345 catches, 4,030 yards, 24 touchdowns and 11.7 yards per catch.

Dallas Goedert place on IR, Eagles TEs need to step up
Of course, the offense runs through Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown and others. But without Goedert, others will have to step up for Philadelphia.
Grant Calcaterra, a former SMU star, is the one in line to start with CJ Uzomah and EJ Jenkins as other backup tight ends.
Calcarterra is in his third season with the Eagles and already has career highs across the board. This season, he has 17 catches for 216 yards. Overall, he has 26 catches for 336 yards in two-plus seasons.
As it stands, Goedert could return for the Wild Card round in the NFL playoffs since the Eagles are the No. 2 seed. But if Philadelphia catches the Detroit Lions, they could land the No. 1 seed by season’s end, giving Goedert and extra week of rest.
